Computers can definitely be a lot better at deciding and also far quicker at reacting than any human can. Back then, computers were slow, being compared to robots was an insult but now or at least in the future it's going to be the other way around if the world doesn't get wiped out somehow and the top engineers live on while all the tools still exist to be used.
