Checking 1S batteries

I'm trying to check my 1s batteries on the ISDT BG-8s and they keep coming up at 1.7-1.8 volts so obviously I'm doing something wrong.
How can I check their voltage/health other than my multi-tester?

To measure 1S you need to connect the cell to the balance port and supply the meter with another battery that's at least 5V on the XT60 connection.

Your 1s looks plugged backwards? Negative goes towards XT60 as in the screenshot I last posted.

My bad fella's, I thought the bg-8s was a charger and not a checker, that will teach me to read properly.
