Hi,

I bought the complete Eachine Wizzard X220 V2 quad set with the FLYSKY I6X apparatus and the FlySky FS-A8S receiver.

I've been flying this drone a bit recently and unfortunately I'm very disappointed with the flight range. After about 300-400m, the drone disconnected from the FlySky transmitter and fell like a stone to the ground (I think it was a fail safe procedure) about 5 times.

Another thing was that I was flying in the vicinity of a GSM cell phone base station (within 1.0 - 1.5 km) and it may have interfered with the transmission.
But I also flew the DJI Mavic Pro there and there were no such troubles.

Question: can you recommend a relatively inexpensive and with good range receiver that will work with the FlySky i6X transmitter?

It could be something like a broken antennae connection in the receiver or transmitter. The antenna placement is also important. A cheaper alternative is switching the flysky ia6b receiver which is larger and heavier but should have more range and has iBus which is a faster and digital protocol.

Thanks for your help. I will check both antena connections. You wrote that ia6b is better and Digital. But will it work with FLYSKY I6X? It's an analog transmitter.
There is also a smaller version Fs-ia6. Do you think it is as good as Fs- ia6b?

Yes it will work with that FLYSKY radio. The Fs-ia6 probably won't get you as much range as the Fs-ia6b as the antennae aren't as good. I think the fs-ia6 only does one channel per wire but the Fs-ia6b can put all channels through the same wire without sacrifices being lighter and more reliable.

Hi, thanks for your advice. I would buy Fs- ia6b but unfortunately it is too big for my quad and I simply have no place to mount it.
Any other suggestions for a good receiver but smaller in dimensions?

I am only looking at photos so I'm not sure if it would fit. I would put it in the back behind the stack and cable tie it to the bottom plate. Even if you put it in sideways that should be fine. I don't know of any other options.

Hi!
I have finally decided to replace my former receiver with Flysky FS-ia6b and it's great!!! Thanks a lot for your advice :)

The range of the drone has improved dramatically, there is also an indicator of the signal strength of the connection with the receiver.
At the moment I can easily fly 300-350 m from the transmitter and the signal is still strong. Unfortunately, I can't continue, because now, for a change, the image in the goggles (Eachine EV800DM) and on the screen (Eachine Moneagle 5 inch) disappears (after approx. 150 - 200 m).
This is probably the next element that I will have to replace, although it may be the fault of, for example, the antennas mounted on the Eachine Wizzard (what I have originally installed in the drone can be seen in the photos) - any advice on this matter?

However, mounting the FS-ia6b was very difficult as there was very little space for such a large receiver. I had to remove the casing from it to press it anywhere, but it worked - I recommend this method of assembly for others.

The only strange thing is that while configuring ia6b I couldn't connect it as iBUS, but only as sBUS. I tried (with the programmer) to update the FS-ia6B firmware, but it failed despite various attempts described on the Internet. It looks as if the receiver is blocked for any updates. But it works great, so it doesn't make sense to forcefully update it.
