Hi! I'm new here and to flying drones. I've watched many videos and read quite a bit about drones. One thing is for sure: fpv is where all the fun is at.

I want to stick to step 1 of getting started: start with a simulator. Then one video suggested getting a controller that's not too expensive, jump in the simulator and see if I like it or not. Then if I don't like it, no more more money needs to be spent. However, it's a sure thing I'll end up liking it, but at the same time, monetary resources are very light. The Radiomaster Pocket seems to be a good entry point but prices jumped out of control recently. Hoping they become more reasonable soon, not just for me, but for everyone. I've been flying line of sight toy drones and learning a lot. I registered here to have a place to ask questions and share experiences. On the controller, I may go on ebay and get a decent used one that won't break the bank so I can jump into a sim sooner.

Welcome!
If you decide to get that controller and you like it , you will have to learn the OS on it, then learn how to connect Express LRS, then learn on how to configure your drone if you by a prebuilt, does not matter the size, this includes using Betaflight, and also get goggles , where you will need to decide if your going analog or digital. Digital is becoming the norm now but its more expensive but way more immersive. Either way the hobby is not cheap in the long run.

You can also just save extra 150 and get DJI FPV controller 3 , they cost 200 new but might find a used one cheaper.
You can also use this on the your computer to practice on your sim, then get the DJI goggles and a DJI NEO later. AFter you can get an Avata or a prebuilt drone with a DJI 03 or 04 system which will also connect to your controller and goggles. I cant believe I am recommending DJI but they have taken over in many ways because of how much easier it is to setup and how well their digital system is. Good Luck, FPV is the way to go,. but some experience vertigo when using the goggles.
