    Avata propellers keep breaking

Check the edges of the prop guards. One issue with the Avata is that the prop guards are malleable. If any of them are out of round, that may be causing the issue. If the inside edges of the guards are grooved, that would be another tell.

    107 Waiver for FPV w/o a VO

The survey is over, but we're opened up the waiver to everyone now. Video and links here:

Where to put FAA Sticker on Avata?

Mine is just on the top. I've used a Brother label maker and my stickers don't come off. Might just need stickers with better adhesives.

Looking for a place or someone to teach FPV flying

Not sure about in person instructors since you don't have your location available. But Pilot Institute has a very good "Deep Dive" course on the DJI FPV. That will help you understand how it works. Also, keep the drone in Normal Mode until you're more comfortable with the drone. Use the DJI...

    FPV flight Arapahoe Basin Colorado

Flying Loveland Pass is always sketchy due to altitude (I live in Denver, and am from Summit County). Odds are the MSL was partially responsible for the erratic behavior. Wind may contribute much of the rest.

    107 Waiver for FPV w/o a VO

We (DSPA) have been asked to gather information on the impact of Chinese manufactured drones. This data is being gathered in the form of a survey. And as a "Thank You" for taking this 2 minute survey, we have put all of our applications and waiver information into a DropBox. Kenji Sugahara and...

Remote ID from DJI on everything?????

The DJI FPV does not have an accepted Declaration of Compliance from the FAA. But since you have the goggles updated, it likely needs to know it's GPS to launch. Annoying, but not the end of the world. And you can unplug your phone once you lift off. It will only display a "remote ID error"...

    FPV w/o a VO (legal)

Kenji and I agree 100%. That's why we'll be putting out an article and/or video on how to get these waivers. We both want the waivers to go the way of the 107.29 Daylight Waiver. We'll be having a live webinar for our DSPA members next month, then do one for the members of our sponsor. We want...

    FPV w/o a VO (legal)

FPV w/o a VO. First "legal" flight taken under my new BVLOS waiver. Not a particularly pretty flight, but my first of many w/o a VO. Flown with my Avata. https://vimeo.com/mossphotography/fpvnovo

Honestly... do you fly with a spotter?

Pretty sure it's safe to assume that's a given... 😂

Honestly... do you fly with a spotter?

Technically, you need a spotter (VO) when flying FPV. Do I always? No. Nor should I have to. Even the FAA is on record of this. At the DAC meeting in July (I believe) Jay Merkel mentioned that someone needs to apply for a waiver to fly FPV w/o a VO. I did that very thing with what I thought...

    Denver FPV Neophyte

I guess I should be a bit more specific. I currently have 9 small FPV rigs, from EMAX Tinyhawk 2s to BETAFPV 95x w/ Naked 6. But I'm upgrading to a Hyrdophobe and Squirt set up with the DJI digital system this month. So since I'm upgrading, I figure I better get a bit more involved.
