I don't appear to have the flight direction indicator in a small black box at the bottom centre of the fly screen as I've seen on videos of other people's flights.

Not sure what you're referring to, unless it's the attitude indicator compass? I don't have it either, but I wasn't aware that this was available with the Avata. Have you seen it on a screen-view recording for the Avata?

Hi
I've watched lots of you tube videos on the A2 prior to getting one and since and this one video is the only time I've seen it come up. I had a similar icon on all my Mavics but have never seen it before on any vids for the A2
It was a small box located bottom centre of the screen with a solid triangle pointer which moves about showing the direction and movement of the drone. I'm trying to locate the vid again so I can post a link.
Perhaps it's been removed after an update I'm not sure, but it was definitely there.
I'm not aware of being able to access this and install it independently into the App, perhaps someone can help with this???

What are you talking of by "fly screen" and App? If this is what you're referring to i'll be there, in the goggles...

That is exactly what I'm referring to.
I haven't got this when I'm flying.
I've watched lots of footage of other people flying and they haven't got it either. Is this a geo awareness feature for nearby aircraft in the EU region and doesn't appear anywhere else to comply with EU C1 classification. In which case here in the UK I wouldn't have it.

Dunno, it's not even mentioned in the manual:

Looking at my goggles recordings I have it on all of them with the A2 (not with the Neo, same goggles) whether initial or current firmware, obviously I never looked at it but reviewing the footage it seems to have no meaningful purpose and be pretty much completely random. Guess be happy it doesn't clutter your view.

I managed to locate a conversation about it on the DJI Forum... lots of people asking the same question as to why some people have it and some don't. DJI responded by saying it should only appear on C1 classified drones located within the EU and no where else.
It represents where there is aircraft activity nearby.... position and flying direction.

Does this correlate Kilrah with yourself.... are you based in the EU

are you based in the EU
Not an EU country but geographically yes.

It represents where there is aircraft activity nearby.... position and flying direction.
That doesn't correlate though. It's always there, points to some direction straight on boot before it could have any info about "activity" and then follows aircraft yaw, but the initial direction seems random. It's neither north, the home direction, or even related to relative aircraft/goggles positioning/orientation that I could tell and I've never seen it change reference in flight.

That's interesting.... I was quoting what the DJI representative said on their Forum in answer to other people's questions about it.

Typical that DJI can't explain it correctly 🤣

Lot's of comments on their forum said it was a waste of time and real estate.

Thanks for the help in answering the question. 👍🏻
