Is there something that prevents the strap portion of that from hinging up in a crash? Seems like in a violent crash that portion might hinge up out of the way and letting the battery fly out.

The hinge is pretty tight on the battery there is a thick peace of rubber on the hinge between the battery. It's better than nothing.
