i have this:
Drone: iFlight Green Hornet V2
Controller: FrSky Taranis Q X7S

The problem is i think its a xm+ receiver because of the green circuit board i have seen many places before.
When i try to connect it to my transmitter it wont connect, i can get it to work I'm a fully new to this fpv world.

I'm from Denmark so sorry for my bad English.

Hi Slamboe,

If You cannot bind the XM+ receiver to your FrSky Taranis Q X7S transmitter. Here are a few things to check

1. Confirm the Receiver Is XM+

  • XM+ has a small green PCB with two antennas.
  • Look for "XM+" printed on the receiver itself.

2. Ensure You’re Using the Correct Firmware

This is the most common issue. FrSky has two incompatible firmware versions:
  • ACCST D16 v1.x
  • ACCST D16 v2.x (LBT or FCC)
Your transmitter and receiver must match firmware versions (and region: FCC vs LBT).

Solution:
  • Update either the transmitter or the receiver so both use the same ACCST D16 version.
  • You can flash XM+ firmware using the Q X7S and an SD card.
Let me know if you want exact steps for flashing.

3. Binding Procedure for XM+

  1. Power only the receiver while holding the Bind button (on the XM+).
  2. The red and green LEDs should light up (indicates it's in bind mode).
  3. On the Q X7S:
    • Go to Model Setup > Internal RF
    • Set mode to "ACCST D16"
    • Choose channels (1-16) and hit Bind
  4. Wait for the XM+ green LED to go solid (bound).
  5. Power cycle the receiver and check LED: solid green = bound.

4. Other Possible Issues

  • Receiver not getting power: Check wiring from flight controller to receiver. Make sure the XM+ is properly connected to the flight controller and is receiving power (usually 5V and GND, plus SBUS signal wire).
  • Wrong protocol selected: XM+ only works with ACCST D16, not ACCESS or D8.
  • Range mode: Don’t use range test when trying to bind.
  • Damaged receiver or TX module

hope this helps! There’s a ton of info out there, and I’m sure you’ll figure it out soon. Joshua Bardwell on YouTube is a great resource, he might even have a video on this exact issue.

I ran into a similar problem early on and ended up learning a lot from him and some sites like this one that deals with drones and creative tech stuff.
