I'm considering the vtx/ camera wiring.
the blue wire goes to the fc for telemetry. i need to marry these to sets of wires (with paracord). should i redo at the plug or solder the wires together?
here's the paracord on the micro...
this is the broke motor so took it off to see. thoughts? some additional weight but helps longevity? is it worth it?
this is about how long it needs to be. i think paracord would keep the look going but what's the best way to do this? should i do a staggered splice or redo one of the plugs?
next bit of fun, the runcam swift v2 has vbat input (basically connect to a full voltage out from the FC. now, the tbs unify pro also takes battery power up to 6s and provides battery votage in fpv. is there any reason to also run the blue runcam wire to that "12v" outlet? wouldn't i also need to run a ground wire?
got the rx wired... I'm being very mindful about being able to take the hood to one side for maintainence. time for the last paracord trick. 2", four splices, wrapped in paracord. we'll see.. if i pull it off it'le finish the look. the power to the vtx ill finish in black heat shrink. I'm issuing uv glue to finish the paracord ends/ wire exits. it holds the paracord in place so it doesn't pull away from the ends
cut the wires at staggered lengths..
strip and prep the wires
prep the paracord to the exact length of the finished unit when finished. i put the end over a small paintbrush Handle before melting the ends. it helps keep the ends of the paracord open.
compress the paracord to one side and do two ends (add shrink wrap but don't overlap)
then feed the other two wires through and do the other side..
pull blue wire through to join the vtx pwr/ground. stretched the paracord back over and i uv glued the ends secure.
i think I'm done... ready for software.
here's the finished deal, hood off (which was 60% of the goal. i finished the vtx power with black shrink wrap. got enough paracord lol.
gotta build a smoke stopper first than... !
Its time to load betaflight and load dshot on the esc's
those still following this book of a build thread, I hope your learning something too. doing the build thread has made me pay attention.
