Flashing betaflight question

I need to flash my spracingf3 board with a copy of betaflight....(currently has cleanflight preloaded on it)
When i download betaflight it saves as a .hex file.......how do i view this, and is it nesessary to view?

It isn't anything you need to look at. You can view it with notepad but it is just a bunch of hexadecimal data. Just use the betaflight app to download and flash the newest stable release.

I get a no response from boot loader when i download directly from the betaflight app....so i thought i would download it to my hard drive and retreive it through local machine on betaflights app.....the software is .hex and my pc doesnt know
What to do with it? (Example ....pc will ask "what do i open this with").

You need to push the boot button, or short the boot pins (depending on what your board has) when plugging in the FC.

Are you saying momentarily connect these two "boot" pins?
Then what happens?

Yeah, just bridge them with a paperclip or something while you plug in the USB. It will allow you to flash the firmware.

If you haven't already Download or update your driver files if you still are having problems with the boot loader.
