Applications that support photos and videos

I'm having some problems with video editing, does anyone have an application that can help me cut and increase brightness?

I've been told that Divinci Resolve is a good video editor. Don't know whether its free or not.

Da Vinci Resolve is free and there is PRO version called DaVinci resolve studio

This might be good for your light and brittleness alterations.
