After 10 years of owning various DJI drones, it appears that I have got my first dud!!
I got the Avata 2 fly more combo at Xmas, and only over the last few days have I had the opportunity to set it up. As usual I went through the procedures linking in to the Fly more app, updating the firmware etc. Clearly a very different proposition to my other Drones with the Goggles etc, but moreover getting to grips with the Motion controller.
Yesterday, inside I powered up the drone, and took off and hovered, but also noticing the hand gesture function not working. Assuming from various comments/videos etc the controller needed calibration. After a few attempts I successfully calibrated the Compass IMU and controls. However this was when it completely berserk! On attempting take off using the joystick the drone just flew backwards at full speed and was totally out of control!!!
Now whenever I switch on the controller it just continually keeps and nothing else!!!
For the first time I have had to contact Dji who asked me to return the whole package via their appointed courier, and so I was told, as the product is effectively brand new in terms of use they will in one or two days send a brand new complete replacement package.
Let's hope the process goes as smoothly as they suggest.
I am wondering whether there are more general issues with this product, using as it does completely different operating technology to their usual Drones...
