I’m currently selling my quad and this seller wants to know if it will work with his dji racing edition goggles, I do not have the air unit but just an analog vtx. Can you guys help me out?

Fairly certain you need to run the occusync air unit in the quad to use the DJI racing goggles. Having said that, I can use my Fatshark goggles on DJI controllers that have an HDMI output.

I saw a review on youtube and they say it receives analog 5.8 signal so why would I need the air unit? Does it also transmits analog?

The Racing Edition goggles do accept a standard analog signal on 12 channels.
From their website:
5. Supported with both OcuSync and analog video transmission.
