Drones and wind

Hi. I've been watching lots of drone videos on YT. One thing I hardly hear being talked about is flying drones in any kind of windy conditions.

I have 2 toy drones: E88 and V66 from temu, and have been flying them indoors at work. 1 area has a 20 feet high ceiling and so far the best spot for learning. There is zero to very little draft from the AC.

However, there is another room with regular ceiling height, about 10 feet, unfinished, but with AC vents and other drafty holes.

The E88 flies fine, but the V66 is all over the place. Nevermind the V66's controller is very sensitive to any touch, but not the E88's. The E88 has been a lot more fun to learn on.

With all that said, I will not dare fly these drones outside at all. Summer is coming and it gets pretty hot where I work, but it's still very windy outside.

What makes the real, more expensive drones so good at handling windy conditions? Is it the weight, the pilot? Thanks guys.

I would say it's a weight to power ratio. Also, it seems larger drones are better in high wind than smaller drones. Overall, I find the DJI offerings very robust in a myriad of conditions. In particular, my Phantom 4 Pro does extremely well in high winds. I've shot video in wind gusts as high as 30 mph, which is pretty insane. I generally won't shoot video in wind gusts over 20 mph, especially my Mavic Pro and Inspire 1. But the P4P allows me to bend that rule a bit.

I'm going with an RTF kit that includes the drone, a battery, controller and googles. Due to budget limitations, I'll be looking into the kits from Betafpv, Emax and NewBeeDrone. So far, Emax is coming out ahead based on all the video reviews I've watched. If budget allows in the future, I'll jump on a DJI Avata per a co-workers recommendation.

You're like the 5th person to reference "googles" this year. What the hell are "googles" and where can I get them?
