Will 20A ESC's be enough for the BR2205 @ 2300KV motors with 5" props?

Lost my drone yesterday and after that I'm trying to build another with smaller/minimal parts until I get more confident. I had 30A running on the one I lost, these are a bit cheaper

Thanks

Oh no Solly, that sucks big time.
Definitely ok with 3s but not sure about 4s. Virtue or Randy or Futura will be able to confirm though. And others on here. How did you lose it?

How did you lose it?
After alot of configuring and double checking everything I got the courage up yesterday to put the props on and go for it. The first flight was short (acro mode), slammed it into the ground 10 metres in front of me lol. Props got a bit chewed up so I changed props to be safe and went again. This time in angle mode. It was flying awesome (**** myself how fast it was lol). Then I lost orientation and trying to bring it back made it go further out. I have to say at this point that I was not flying FPV as I'm waiting for a new VTX that I blew up (another story). So as soon as I lost visual of it, i killed the motors. My thought was that if I didn't, it would've kept going and I'd have no hope in finding it. Searched all yesterday and this morning (in between orange trees) where I thought i last saw it but no joy. Could be sitting on top of a tree atm, who knows.

I would like to know though, was it the right thing to do? or not? I mean by killing the motors I mean. I think my decision was mixed between panic and a bit of reasoning as I mentioned, but not sure what others think would've been the best thing to do

Tough one to answer that. Depends on los confident I guess. When I fly los which is not very often because I personally enjoy fpv more, I keep it fairly low and close.

Do you have enough spares to rebuild?
Nuh, trying to be nice to the wife to re order lol. I have vtx and receivers ordered from before this, and i still have my cam as I took it off before flying because there was no point having it on there since i had no vtx. So the plus, i still have the cam.lol

I've just been looking at the micros. There are a few that can be bound with the Taranis. Maybe I should take this road for now to get some confidense on the sticks

Sure, a lot of people are into the micros now. Just make sure you go brushless or you’ll be replacing motors more than flying.
Just remember if you already have a few batteries, you’ll need to buy smaller ones. Pretty cheap but you’ll need a few.
What are you keen on? In micro

I was looking at the q95x or the bat. But since you said don't go brush motors i guess the bat is out
