So I've been debating between purchasing a RTF vs. doing my own build and I must say that I really want to build my own racer. I feel that's half the experience, and I want to know everything about what I'm assembling. The first decision I would assume is what class frame to buy.

I've been doing some research and I understand that 250 is the most popular? For some of you more experienced pilots, I'd really like to get your opinion on what's best for a first time build. Spare me the flame if I'm way off here. ;)

250 is a good start, just big enough to mount everything easily and most popular size as you have already seen.

Yeah go with 250, however I love my 210r. Buy a zmr 250, super cheap easy to repair. Then when you are ready for a clean tight build, get a 210 or 180 racer, that way you will have enough time to fly better and learn enough about motor-esc combos, flight controllers, and the rest, to build a real prize racer
