Bought a Happymodel snapper7, first tiny whoop racing type drone and I'm not sure if this is normal and I just need practice to keep level and steady. Problem I'm having is that the drone tends to dip and rise sporadically. I steady the quad and as soon as I begin to go forward it loses altitude, I stop going forward and it goes up. These are not slight dips and rises, they're pretty extreme. Sorry, haven't learned all the lingo yet. Quad is in stability mode. Just wondering if this is normal and I just need to learn to fly better or if there's a setting I need in betaflight? Any help would be appreciated. Hope you understand what I'm asking.

Hi jr, you have to remember this is a micro so it is nowhere near as responsive as a larger quad.
Having said that, that does sound a bit much.
Are you totally sure you are in stabe mode.

Thanks for the reply Wayne. Yes, it is in stabe mode. When I first tried it out, I was all over the place and thought I'd never be able to fly. I put my goggles on and saw "acro" on the screen. Figured out how to configure the radio so I could change modes with a switch. I can now see that it is in stabe mode and I can switch between stabe, horizon and acro.
