i have an MJX X101 and was wondering if i got a nicer controller can i program it to work for my mjx x101 (toy grade)

The most popular and functional ,programmable radios out there are TARANIS,SPECTRUM,FUTABA. The last on is very expensive...i use a Taranis QX7...about 100.00. It is designed for racing quads. Good radio ,easy to program, and so on.
I am not familiar with your radio, however that doesn't mean that one of the guys in here isn't.
