Question about creating rate profile/pid switch on dx6e...

I have a spektrum dx6e and I only fly in acro. I use aux1 for my arm/airmode switch and I thought since I only use acro and don't have flightmodes programmed I could use the gear channel to program a rate profile switch but I couldn't get it to work so I'm guessing I can't do that. I followed the instructions from a few videos but I could never get the switch to change through profile numbers in betaflight. Any help would be great thanks.

When you go to the receiver tab in betaflight with props off and battery connected, start flipping switches and see what responds. If the switch you want isn't moving any bars, you will need to go into the menus in your radio and set up the switch in there first.

When i was using betaflight, i had arm and airmode on the same switch, i would disarm as i landed, ya have to time it right or you get a huge bounce.

It's just a lemon satellite rx with a betaflight f3 controller

That's ok but thx. But as far as putting it on the gear channel you don't think that's a problem?

Shouldn't be a problem, its just called that because of rc planes, its just a channel

There should be a settings menu in your radio to set which switch is on which channel. Set the desired switch to an unused channel. Then you can start the betaflight part by confirming movement of the switch on the receivers tab.

You should be able to set that up in the adjustments tab. You'll need to "enable expert mode first" in the top right corner.
In adjustments tab, select an Aux#, set the range and under "Then Apply" select the change (Rate Profile Selection).
