I even downloaded the Assistant 2 software and it keeps telling me my Fly app version is too early. I'm about to pack it up and send it back. Can someone help with some advice. As a side note I have the Goggles N3 and MC3 controller, which I had no problem with installing and running with my N3 and MC3. It recognizes my neo and is functional, and I did the switching function with no problem.

What phone, where did you install the app from, Assistant 2 and Fly have nothing in common so assistant saying the Fly app is too old makes no sense...

Explain better or post photos/screenshots of what you're doing and the errors you get.

having the same problem.
I got the Goggles N3, Neo, RC Motion 3, FPV Controller 3 and now the Avata 2.

Everything is working great with goggles, Neo, and both controllers.

As soon as i tried to connect to the Avata 2 (new) using the Fly App on my iphone i get nothing, it can't even detect the device. In the goggles it detects the device (i mean, i can switch devices to it) but always fails to connect, i get a quick red error saying "Drone version too early" dont know what that means, because i can't even connect to it or pair in order to update firmware. How can we update firmware if it can't even be paired or detected by the Fly App??

I uninstalled the dji fly app,in the Iphone, re installed it. Made sure its running the latest version. Still the same, the avata 2 flashes white on top but never connects i always get an error on the app saying it cant find the drone and the Goggles N3 can't find it neither. I can switch to the Neo and it works, if i switch back on the Goggles to the Avata 2 it cant reach it. Even if i press the button to keep it in pairing mode, same result, can never connect.

This is a new unit.....im thinking if there are no tips or tricks about this, its a dud and i must sadly return it.

One question, have you scanned the barcode on the inside of the Avata 2 box lid.? When I did that I seen a option to activate the drone. Check that first.

I found the solution to the problem. I downloaded Assistant 2 and plugged into the port on the side of the drone. It automatically called up Avata 2 and after 2 or 3 simple steps it was activated and done. Now to see if pairs ok.
I had some more trouble but kept at it and was just about to give up and send it back, really I was about done with it, but I reconnected the drone to the software it picked it up again an I did the update again and voila no more aircraft vesion too early error. After that when pairing the drone and N3 goggles it simply connected with a camera view and the whole thing was complete. Finally.

I scanned the QR code but it only points to the video tutorial on how to set up the drone, and install the dji fly app etc. Its a generic help page on their website.
There are no more qr codes inside the box, this was the Avata 2 only pack, nothing else.

Assistant 2

I tried to install Dji Assistant 2 (the consumer drone version and also the FPV version) both. But its stuck on that screen asking to connect it via cable. The pc detects the contents and internal storage of the drone in windows, i can see the folders and everything. But the DJI assistant only shows that blue circle asking to connect even if the Avata 2 is connected via usb-c cable.

Did you use a different version of DJI Assistant? Do we need to connect the Motion control and not the drone? Or just the drone?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Thank you for your help and comments trying to troubleshoot this. It is now working.
For anyone that might have the same issues: I was trying the DJI Assistant 2 application, as many recommended in youtube to use the FPV version. That did not work. Then i tried the Consumer Drone version, also did not work. But it did not work because i was using the MacOS version. Then i tried the Windows version but i was running WIndows on an ARM processor that did not work. When i tried the same application but running in X64 processor Windows then it detected the Avata 2 and updated the firmware. After being updated, the Goggles N3 now finally recognized it and paired in seconds.

So make sure you are using X64 processor in Windows if you need to use the DJI Assistant 2 Consumer Drone Version. That is key.

thank you everyone and happy holidays!
