Flashing without a plug

I’m having a hard time binding my Taranis qx7 to my receiver. I had this quad built and tuned by rotor riot. It’s a CL1 shark byte and the receiver is R-XSR.
I think I have to flash the receiver. The videos I’ve seen shows them unplugging the receiver and connecting it to the transmitter but my problem is that mine has no plug. It is soldered on each end. My question is do I need to unsolder the wires and use leads to connect it to the pins on the back of the receiver?

If you want to flash the firmware using your Qx7, you'll need to connect it to the smartport on your radio, so you'll have to remove it from the quad. Do you know what firmware is on the receiver? You need to match that firmware on your radio and would then be ok. Are you using ACCST or ACCESS firmware? Are you using S.Port or F.port? Did you successfully register the receiver before trying to bind it? There are so many questions!!! Can you provide a bit more context?
