Stuck in wide angle

Hi, Avata 1 only shoots in wide angle, regardless of selecting ultra wide or normal. It even says its in those different modes in the menu, clearly selected, but it makes no difference to the view .it stays in wide angle only.
Any clues greatly appreciated

The live view is always wide, it's the recorded image that changes.
